Protecting the IoT and OT Environments Part I
The vast majority of the computing devices deployed around the world are not found in the Information Technology (IT) realm. They are found in the Operational Technology (OT) and Internet-of-Things (IoT) realms. Unfortunately, these latter two realms are highly underserved by traditional cybersecurity systems. Part of the reason is that OT/IoT systems tend to be far more resource constrained than the systems found in most IT environments. Cybersecurity systems, however, tend to be very resource intensive and are therefore unable to operate in, or even fit into, many/most OT/IoT devices. Only a system such as Crytica’s Rapid Detection & Alert (RDA), with its very tiny footprint, efficient code, and minimum resource requirements can operate inside of most OT/IoT devices.
